Rochester has dozens of pest control companies, and most of them have strong online ratings, which makes them hard to tell apart. To build this list, we checked each company’s Google Business Profile, its own website and its service area, then compared them on the things that matter when you are about to let someone treat your home: customer ratings, how long the business has operated, which pests it handles, and whether it publishes a plan, a price or a written guarantee.
Every rating, review count, address and phone number below was checked on 14 October 2026. Ratings change often, so confirm the current figures before you book.

How we ranked these companies
We started from the pest control companies that appear for Rochester searches on Google and in local directories, then kept only businesses that serve Rochester and have a working website and Google Business Profile. Each company was then compared on four things:
- Customer ratings and review volume. A 4.9 rating from thousands of reviews tells you more than a 5.0 from a few dozen, so we looked at both numbers together.
- Track record. The year the company says it started serving the area, where it publishes one.
- Range of services. Whether it handles the pests Rochester homes actually deal with: mice and rats, ants, stinging insects, bed bugs, termites, ticks and wildlife such as squirrels and bats.
- Transparency. Whether the company publishes a service plan, a guarantee, a free estimate offer or other terms a customer can hold it to.
We did not hire these companies or test their treatments ourselves. The list is based on public information that you can check, and each profile below tells you where the facts came from.
Check this before you hire anyone in New York
In New York State, any business that offers or applies pesticides must register every year with the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). It must employ at least one certified commercial pesticide applicator or technician at each registered location, and carry liability insurance of at least $300,000 per person and $1,000,000 per incident for bodily injury, plus $300,000 for property damage (6 NYCRR Section 325.23).
Before you book, ask any company on this list (or off it) for three things:
- Its DEC pesticide business registration number
- Whether the technician coming to your home is DEC-certified
- A copy of its insurance certificate if the job is large, such as termite or wildlife work

How much does pest control cost in Rochester?
Most Rochester companies quote after an inspection, but Town & Country, which is headquartered in Rochester, publishes its prices:
| Program | Published starting price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Everything Package | From $599 | 12 months of coverage, guaranteed against 45+ household pests |
| Ant Program | From $399 | Ant treatment program |
| Stinging Insect Program | From $349 | Wasps, hornets and other stinging insects |
| Rodent Program | From $499 per pest | Mice or rats |
| Occasional Intruders | From $210 per pest | Single services for occasional pests |
For a wider view, general 2026 averages published by HomeGuide put a one-time visit at $100 to $600, quarterly plans at $100 to $300 per visit, wildlife removal at $200 to $600, termite treatment at $225 to $2,500, and bed bug heat treatment at $1 to $3 per square foot.
Prices depend on the pest, how far the problem has spread, the size of the home, and whether you choose one visit or a plan. Exclusion work, where gaps are sealed so rodents and wildlife cannot return, is usually quoted separately.
Common pests in Rochester through the year
| Season | Pests to watch for | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | Carpenter ants, other ants, termites swarming | Check wood near the foundation and around windows |
| Summer | Wasps, hornets, carpenter bees, mosquitoes, ticks | Treat nests early; keep grass short near the house |
| Fall | Mice, cluster flies, stink bugs, squirrels in attics | Seal gaps before the first snow |
| Winter | Mice and rats indoors, bed bugs | Watch for droppings and gnawing; inspect after travel |
Long, snowy winters near Lake Ontario push mice and squirrels indoors, which is why wildlife exclusion and attic work feature so strongly among Rochester companies. Cluster flies and stink bugs are common fall invaders that gather in attics and wall spaces.
How to choose the right company
Ask these questions before you agree to any treatment:
- What is your DEC pesticide business registration number, and is my technician certified?
- What products will you use, and how long should children and pets stay off treated areas?
- Is there a contract, and what is the cancellation notice period?
- What exactly does your guarantee cover, and is it in writing?
- Is exclusion work (sealing entry points) included, or priced separately?
- How quickly can you return if the pests come back between visits?
Get the answers in writing, and compare at least two quotes for the same scope of work.
